Turbocharging was introduced in 1905, when Swiss engineer Alfred Büchi patented a supercharged air intake system that utilized exhaust gases to drive a turbine.
In 1962 the first turbocharged passenger car, the Chevrolet Oldsmobile, pioneered the application of turbocharging technology, which is widely used in boats and airplanes, to passenger cars. This leap was made possible because technological advances allowed engines to become more powerful without adding significant weight to the vehicle. Since the turbocharger was applied to motorized vehicles, it has continued to advance and improve along with the automotive industry. With the continued need for speed and progress in automobiles, turbochargers have been significantly developed and improved over time.
In order to pay tribute to the great contribution that this great invention has made to our human race and the global environment, we have named our company ChangZhou Alfred Power Technology Co., Ltd.
